Turn Surplus Into Local Support

GiveSurplus is a Southern Idaho nonprofit. We turn unwanted electronics, industrial equipment, and lab gear into funding for local education and community programs. Donate items you no longer need. We handle the rest.

What We Accept

We take working and non-working items. If we can resell, refurbish, or recycle it responsibly, we will.

Electronics

  • Laptops, desktops, servers, networking gear
  • Phones, tablets, AV gear, projectors
  • Printers, scanners, POS systems, cables, parts

Responsible Reuse and Recycling

We prioritize reuse. When possible, items are repaired or resold. Materials that can’t be reused are recycled responsibly, with disposal only as a last resort.

Service Area

We serve Southern Idaho, including Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Kuna, Mountain Home, Twin Falls, Jerome, Burley, Pocatello, and Idaho Falls. Large projects outside this area are welcome by request.

FAQs

What if my items do not work?

We still want them. If we cannot reuse them, we will recycle them responsibly.

Can you help with large or complex donations?

Yes. We can coordinate the safe removal of large quantities or bulky equipment and adapt to different site needs.

Do you take chemicals or hazardous materials?

No. We cannot accept chemicals, biologicals, or materials that require hazmat handling.

Can I get a receipt for my donation?

Yes. Ask for a wipe or destruction certificate during scheduling.

Do you charge for pickup?

Most local pickups are free. Very large or remote jobs may include cost recovery. We will quote up front.

Who We Are

GiveSurplus is a nonprofit based in Southern Idaho. Founded by John Schiff, who has more than 25 years of experience working with surplus electronics, industrial, and lab equipment. The organization focuses on practical reuse and responsible recycling that keeps valuable materials in circulation and supports local programs.
